Our pupils enjoyed a fantastic trip to Newhaven Fort, making the very most of the welcome spring sunshine. During a hands-on workshop, they had the opportunity to handle genuine historical artefacts, sparking curiosity and thoughtful discussion. Exploring the Fort’s tunnels, ramparts and exhibitions helped bring history vividly to life, giving pupils a real sense of how the site once protected the coastline. Beyond the excitement of their own discoveries, the visit also deepens and supports their learning back in the classroom, providing valuable contextual knowledge that will support their current English class text, as well as enriching their History lessons. Pupils asked insightful questions, showed excellent historical knowledge and made the most of the unique environment around them. It was a memorable day for all involved, full of learning, adventure and sunshine.
