Under the blazing sun, challengers ran the gauntlet in Hampden House’s 15th annual Oddballs race. An event to raise awareness of testicular cancer, breast cancer and the OddBalls Foundation. Competitors ran holding a rugby ball and a football past defenders armed to the teeth… with water pistols and balloons.

After words of encouragement from the Head Master and Dr Dennis, the first race took off. Braving deluges and downpours, Leconfield and New House claimed victory in the boys’ and girls’ categories respectively.

In the second round, Hampden, initially leading, was overtaken by Durnford as the camouflage net ensnared a Hampden ball, cementing its reputation as the most frustrating obstacle. Chichester then came out on top after a tight dash to the finish against Fenwick.
