On the 11th day of the 11th month, the whole school gathered together in the Quad for our Remembrance Ceremony, to honour all those who have lost their lives in war. Wreaths were laid by the Principal, Head Master, the Headmaster of our Prep School, and our Head of School
All stood in silence, wearing poppies as a mark of respect, united in reflection and remembrance.
A poignant service was led by the Chaplain, as we remembered with gratitude the 322 boys and teachers who tragically lost their lives in two World Wars; 149 in The Great War and 173 in the Second World War.
The congregation sang the hymn Abide With Me, and held a two-minute silence following Gabriel Horsbrugh’s (U6) moving rendition of the Last Post.
We will remember them.
