The final Friday of half term signalled the start of a bank holiday heat wave, and the pupils set the tone by lighting up the Withdean track! As ever there were some exceptional individual performances with new individual records, as well as two new relay records set by Williams and Fenwick in the inter girls competition.
Highlights of the day centred largely around the heroic efforts of the pupils who pushed themselves in events like the 1500m for House points in the heat, and Mr Marshall-Taylor paid special tribute to those brave athletes ‘in the arena’ who were extending themselves.
The final standings were incredibly close, but eventually School House came out victorious in the boys’ event and in the girls’ competition it was Fenwick who were crowned winners.
