Oxford University is the most popular destination for Brighton College leavers this year, as pupils celebrate another extraordinary set of A-level results.
More pupils will head to Oxford than to any other university, with Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial College London the three most popular destinations for the year group.
The news comes as pupils celebrate an exceptional 372 A* grades, with over 97% of all grades awarded at A–B*.In a striking reflection of the College's co-educational ethos, the A* grades were almost perfectly divided between girls and boys.
Across the year group, 52 pupils achieved three or more A*s, including 25 who achieved at least four A*s and seven who achieved five A*s. There was exceptional success at subject level too, with three Brighton College pupils achieving the highest marks in the country in English Literature, Art and Photography.
But the results tell only part of the story of a remarkable year group. Alongside their academic studies, members of the cohort have excelled at the highest levels outside the classroom too, with national champions in rugby, fencing, netball, swimming and dance among those collecting their results today.
